Project Overview

Dittoki is a company dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of single use disposable chopsticks which account for an estimated sixty nine billion pairs used annually in China and Japan. The Dittoki chopstick set is designed for convenience and sustainability featuring a compact reusable design and a practical silicon stand. This product encourages users to carry their own chopsticks making it easy to avoid disposable options when eating takeaway food and supporting a more eco friendly lifestyle.

Challenge & Results

A key challenge in the project was creating a reusable chopstick set that would be genuinely convenient for people to carry and use in everyday takeaway dining situations. Existing reusable options often lacked portability or failed to keep the chopsticks clean and together during transit. The design solution involved developing a pair of chopsticks that lock together to protect the tips and prevent loss, complemented by a silicone holder that doubles as a stand to keep the tips off surfaces while eating. The result is a product that addresses both hygiene and practicality, making it easy for users to keep the set with them in a bag, backpack, or drawer. This approach has enabled Dittoki to offer a practical alternative to disposable chopsticks, supporting a shift in user behavior toward more sustainable habits.
